TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2022 Selection Process

Recruitment for the posts of Sub Inspector in Tamil Police is organized by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board. For this the candidates are selected according to the following process:-

TNUSRB SI Syllabus 2022

The written examination for the selection of Tamil Nadu Police Sub Inspector (Taluka, AR and TSP) will be conducted in two parts which are as follows:-

Part I

TANUSRB SI Recruitment Part-I will consist of Tamil Language Eligibility Test. Which will be conducted normally for Open Quota and Departmental Quota candidates.

  1. It is mandatory to qualify the Tamil Language Eligibility Test. Each question in this will be objective type and all the questions will be of 1 mark. 
  2. In respect of 20% departmental candidates, Tamil language eligibility test will be conducted generally with those who are applying against open quota.
  3. The candidates who have applied for both Open and Departmental Category will have to appear in the Commonly conducted Tamil Language Eligibility Test only once.

The syllabus for the Tamil Eligibility Test will be the same as taught by the Tamil Nadu State Board in schools up to class 10th. Part II Main Exam

Main Written Exam for Open Quota Candidates:

Part – A – General Knowledge (40 Marks – 80 Questions)

General Knowledge:

  1. General Science: cure and prevention, Diet and Nutrition, Properties of Matter, Light, Electricity and other related topics, Diseases and their causes, Physics, Elements and compounds, Chemistry and Biology viz. Inventions and Discoveries. Scientists and their contributions, Human Physiology, Genetics, Animals, Plants, Environment and Ecology, Acids, Bases and Salts and allied subjects, Motion.
  2. Geography :Population distribution in India and other related Topics, Power Plants, Forests and Wildlife, Crops, Indian Towns and Places,  Regions of India, Monsoon and climate, Major Ports, Minerals, Industries, National Parks,
  3. Economics: Population and Un-employment problems, Imports and Export, Agriculture in India, Industrial Development, Rural Development, Price policy, Inflation, 5 year planning and related topics.
  4. History: Dates and events of Indian History from Indus Valley Civilization to present day modern India. Important events of World history.
  5. General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Games and Sports, National and International awards, Latest development in Science and Technology, India and its Neighbour, Arts & Culture of India and Tamil Nadu,  National and International organizations, Abbreviations, Who’s Who, Books and Authors, present day India and other related topics, Political developments in India, .
  6. Indian Polity: Centre-State Relationship, Indian Constitution, Citizenship, Elections, Parliament and State legislatures, Executive, Judicial system, Local Self Governments, Foreign Policy and other related topics.
Part – B – Psychology Test (30 Marks – 60 Questions)
  1. Mental Ability: The purpose of these tests is to see with what ability a candidate can draw conclusions through any inductive or deductive reasoning.
  2. Logical analysis: It involves analyzing any information logically in order to find out the different dimensions regarding different Information.
  3. Communication Skills: In this, related questions will be asked to test the effective use of Tamil and English languages.
  4. Numerical Analysis: In this the quick reaction of the candidate with respect to any numerical ability will be tested.
  5. Ability to handle information: For any information, various aspects of the information, inferences and connected facts will be tested.

Main Written Examination For Departmental Quota Candidates

Part – A – (15 Marks – 30 Questions)

General Knowledge :- The General Knowledge part of the written examination for Departmental Quota candidates will have the same syllabus as that given for Open Quota candidates.

Part – B – (70 Marks – 140 Questions)

Psychology Test:- The completion syllabus for this subject will remain the same as that of Open Quota candidates.

In addition to the above courses, the candidates applying under departmental quota will be asked questions on the following police subjects in Part-B:-

Code of Criminal Procedure, Police Standing Orders and Police Administration, Indian Evidence Act, Indian Penal Code.
